Legendary night at the Famous

Rain did not deter Crazy Nights at the Famous last night. Instead the creative minds of Stan and Jimmy brought it all indoors. As you all know, bringing it inside the Pavilion makes for a very quaint setting thus setting the mood for a fabulous house concert. The thunder and lightening kept perfect tempo for both Stan and Jimmy as they song shared throughout the evening.

Usually because I have to run around helping inside and outside during the performances, I do not get to REALLY enjoy the music. Last night was an exception. Stan and Jimmy shared with everyone the inspirations and tales behind their songs setting the stage for their vocal and acoustic magic.

After coming home last night, I found myself cracking up thinking about the one of the first years we had a rain out.... We were not as lucky to be so up close and personal with the musician..... First off we were already scraping the bottom of the barrel for musical talent and could only find a man that did Elvis impersonations... Just envision the gyrations of Elvis in a SMALL space singing through a bad karaoke machine for 2 hours! The level of talent at the Famous has come a long way!!

I think last night will stay with me as one of the all time great performances at the Famous. Mineral Wells is very lucky to have such musical talent coming into bloom right here that really fits and mirrors the rich rustic but very eclectic history and culture of our beautiful spot on the map Texas. Mineral Wells has the perfect blend of rugged West Texas Cowboy, tranquil beauty of the Texas hill country and artistic vibe of the cities that makes it truly unique.

Thank you again Stan and Jimmy for a great night!
